Department of Commerce started functioning in the year of 1975 and is the oldest department of Sri Vyasa NSS College.B.Com (Finance) is the most sought after course in the college.The Department is consistently conducting academic programmes and activities in collaboration with other organisations and business entities to enable and nurture the students to cater the needs of business and corporate community.The department offered undergraduate programme Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) with finance, with a sanctioned strength of 50 students. At present, the department has a sanctioned strength of 60 students. Our alumni consists of bank officers, employees at central government undertakings, faculty of reputed institutes, marketing and finance personnel of national and multinational corporations, Entrepreneurs and members of statutory institutes. The faculty in the department are diligently involved in research-oriented activities, mentoring students with their professional dexterity, attending conferences and presenting and publishing articles in reputed journals.

Financial Literacy Cell

A Financial Literacy Cell (FLC) is functioning under Department of commerce that aims to promote financial literacy and education among individuals, particularly in college students, faculties and General public. The primary objective of an FLC is to empower people with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions and manage their finances effectively. FLC conducts investor awareness programs and seminars across the society. These programs aim to educate investors and students about various aspects of the financial planning, insurance planning, securities market, including different investment options, risk management, and regulatory safeguards. FLC often conducts special programs and seminars for students in colleges. These programs aim to introduce students to the basics of finance, investments, and the importance of financial planning from a young age.

Entrepreneurship Development Club (ED Club)

Entrepreneurship Development Club has been formulated under the department of commerce to inculcate Entrepreneurial Culture amongst students and equip them with the skills, techniques and confidence to act as torch-bearers of entrepreneurship of the new generation. ED Club generally conducting programmes to inculcate entrepreneurship qualities, to sensitise industrial scenario of the state, to nurture the latent entrepreneurial talent, develop awareness among its members of the attitudes, values, and skills of successful entrepreneurs around the globe etc.
