Department of Physics

The Department of Physics has provided Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses since 1980 and 2001 respectively. 36 students for B.Sc and 14 for M.Sc are accommodated. From the beginning itself a good academic standard is maintained. The results are very good while comparing other colleges in the university. The Department has a very good and well-equipped laboratory with independent computer & internet facilities. We take initiatives for research activities in experimental and theoretical physics. A well-equipped material research lab is also available in the department.

The department envisions becoming a cornerstone of a scientific society that fosters logical thinking, facilitates knowledge dissemination and creation through innovative teaching and research in Physics and prepares them for diverse career paths in research, development, education, software, and beyond.

The department's mission is to inspire and cultivate young minds in theoretical and experimental physics, deliver cutting-edge academic programs, drive impactful research, and contribute to the scientific community through high-quality publications and patents.

Science Forum

A science forum was formed in 1982 and many discussions and seminars are conducted so that both students and teachers get a scientific approach towards the solution of social problems.

Physics Club

Physics club formed in 1993 provides scientific awareness to the students. Seminars, discussions on science topics, Intercollegiate Quiz Competition, and National Science Day Celebration are the main activities of the club.

Energy Conservation Club

An Energy Conservation Club associated with ECP of the Central Government has also been working under the auspices of the Department since 2002. The club is intended to give awareness on energy usage and energy auditing. The club also conducts awareness camps in the rural areas about energy conservation.
