The department of English in its rudimentary form started functioning in the year 1967 when the college was established.In the year 1998 B.A English Language and literature course was sanctioned and the department became affiliated with the University of Calicut. The central objective of this programme is to enrich our students with language and literature skills in English. In addition to the traditional chalk-and-talk method classes, special interactive classes by applying group discussion, question-answer, and demonstration methods are arranged to encourage the students and thereby improve their learning.Special classes are held during the study leave of the students with special attention paid to slow learners. The hidden creativity of the students is manifested through the publication of Wall Magazines in the department. Classes are taken using technology and the internet. Interest is grown among the learners by showing them films on different dramas and novels in the syllabus.
