NCC Vyasa Unit functioning under 23 Kerala Battalion, Thrissur was established in 1973. It has intake of 104 Cadets which includes 52 Senior Division (Boys) cadets and 52 Senior Wing (girls) cadets. Through rigorous training and activities, NCC inculcates patriotism, social responsibility, Physical and mental fitness to the Youth. NCC is meant for the mentally tough and physically fit students who believes in the maximum that when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
The NCC aims at devoloping character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service among young citizens.
It aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the nation regardless of which career they choose.
The NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

C Certificate Holder with minimum B grade can apply for NCC special entry. C and B certificate holders have grace mark in all armed forces.
B & C Certificate holders get 10 & 15 Bonus Mark respectively in Agniveer and exempted from written examination (Certain posts).
B&C Certificate holders are eligible to get Bonus Marks in all PSC and UPSC exams.
They are also eligible for grace marks in University exams. (2% for attendance in all semesters, .3% for B Certicate in 3rd & 4th semesters, 4% for CCertificate in 5th and 6th Semesters, special marks for National camps, RD, IGC, TSC, NIC, AAC, ALC etc)
