The objectives of the Research Promotion Policy of the college governed by
1. Generate and provide better infrastructure and resources for research
2. To identify and nurture research capabilities through extending facilities for
faculties and students
3.To practice and to follow basic ethics in research
4. Identifying thrust areas and to augment funds for doing research through
collaboration
5. Extending lab and instrumental facilities to scholars and faculties and also to
researchers from other institutions
6. Partial financial assistance of cost for attending FDPs/seminars/conferences for
quality enhancement of faculty
Research Capabilities and Collaborations
Encourage the faculties to publish research work in reputed journals and to pursue
them to participate in seminars, taking consultation process for industries and
going for collaboration
The research committee encourage the faculties
1.To take research scholars as per norms laid down by affiliating University
viz. For Assistant Professor -4, Associate Professor-8 & Professsor-10
2.Publish papers and books in peer reviewed journals having good citation
3. Do present the work at different conference and seminars
4. Apply for patents
5. Write proposal for project funding/grants/consultations from various
Government and other funding agencies
Ensuring Ethics in Research
The College has well defined research ethics policy which is implemented by the
Research council/ committee of the college. In association with College Library
the Research Council intends to offer publication ethics and to use the software
available in the library for checking plagiarism before publication. It also ensure
all research work in the college follows approved protocols laid down by
affiliating University and to assist in collaborative research work and publication
through mutual agreement
All researchers are expected to be aware and follow the laws on
1. IPR (patents, trademarks, copyrights, plagiarism) and publication
2. Testing or information collection from various sources
3. Privacy and confidentiality in research
5. Transfer and handling of bioresources and/or hazardous chemicals /materials
Functions of the Research Committee
A. Research promotion
Sustaining, monitoring and promoting high throughput research by the college
enhance the potential for excellence. The functioning of the Research committee
in the college supports the development of quality research in the institution. The
committee ensures various programmes that helps in evolving quality research by
the PG student project and it monitor the dissertation work in various stages of
its progress.
1. Synopsis evaluation
It is mandatory for the final PG students and research scholars to present
their dissertation work synopsis before an expert committee appointed by
the affiliating university for evaluation and suggestions for improvement.
The students will have to modify the synopsis according to the directions
of the expert panel.
2. Progress report
The research students have to submit their progress report periodically
before an expert committee appointed by the University for the purpose
and the research guide will have to endorse the report and to forward to
concerned authority for further action. This will ensure complete
transparency and accountability in dissertation work.
3. Pre-submission presentation
After the completion of the work the research scholar will have to present
their work before the duly appointed committee by the affiliating
University before final submission and the meeting minutes of the
committee is forwarded to University for taking further steps. |
