RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE
RESEARCH CENTRE - CHEMISTRY
Chemistry department is a recognised research centre affiliated to Calicut University established during the year 2008. The research centre is a specialized facility of the institution dedicated to conducting advanced research in various fields of chemistry. As the centre is affiliated to university the regulations and norms of the University is followed for admission and other procedures. The Chemistry department foster innovation, collaboration, and discovery in chemical sciences with other institutions. The department was recognised with DST-FIST support and number of scholars have completed their research and were awarded the Ph.D. degree. Faculties from other colleges are also research guides registered with this research centre.
 
FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

• Laboratories

Equipped with advanced instruments like Spectrofluorometer, Electrochemical work station, FTIR Spectroscopy and other instruments such as UV-Visible spectrometer, refrigerated centrifuge, Optical microscopy, DC rectifier and other minor instruments

 

• Library facility

Library is automated with Koha -Integrated Library Management Software which also provides online library catalogue searching facility (OPAC). The college is a member of INFLIBNET- NLIST for accessing e-resources. NLIST offering a comprehensive collection of 6790 e-journals and 325016 e-books. The Library has an independent internet connection with a bandwidth of 200 Mbps

 

• Safety Infrastructure

Strict safety protocols, including fume hoods, chemical storage, and waste disposal systems are properly planned and monitored periodically for its efficient functioning.
